Ruled by a nine person council based on a meritocratic Technocracy. The council is lead by a head councilman. The other eight members of the council are voting members while the Head Statesmen acts as an arbiter in all tied votes and will only vote to break ties when no other resolution can be agreed upon. All council positions are lifelong positions and approved by the current sitting council members. The councilman also vote for whom amongst them is most worthy of being the next head of the council. This head of council is also a lifelong position. 
<br>The current head of the council is Prefect Master Archonic Lorsan Pervaris. The long lived Elvish master has been the head of Astrales for 134 years, but it is clear he is in the final years of his life. The other eight members of the council are made up of four pure Arcanists and four pure Engineers. They are all currently trying to influence Mater Lorsan to step down from his position after pledging his support behind the councilman they would like to take over his position. It is well understood that whomever takes over leadership of the council will have major impact on the ongoing feud between mechanical and magical engineering across Arkrath.
